Why Choose GBC

Thank you for considering Goldey-Beacom College in your college search! For over 125 years, this small college has provided a quality education at an affordable price for college students in the mid-Atlantic region.

College-bound high school seniors choose us because of our nurturing environment with small class sizes and accessible faculty. Division II athletics, apartment-style dorms, and a superb career placement office make us an easy choice for students seeking a well-rounded four-year experience that will prepare them for a prosperous future. With generous scholarship and grant money available for almost everyone, our net cost is one of the lowest in the region.

Transfer students choose us because we appreciate the hard work they have completed elsewhere and strive to give credit where it is due. Students transferring from community colleges across the region often find they can complete the bachelor degree with us in two years or less. Scholarship and grant opportunities identical to those of entering freshmen set us apart from other colleges and make our transfer students some of our happiest.

Working professionals choose us because of our flexible scheduling, our experienced faculty, and our friendly and convenient service. Whether looking to complete a bachelor’s degree that was started years ago, or looking to add “MBA” to the resume, our adult learners find generous scholarship support and flexible payment options designed to fit most budgets.

International students choose us for our global perspective, our connections to international corporations providing internships and training opportunities, and for our ideal location halfway between New York and Washington, DC. Scholarship assistance is available for our international students as well!

The links and information in this section should lead you to details about our programs, our campus, our cost and our quality, but nothing substitutes for a visit to campus to really learn what makes us special. Campus tours and personal visits are available every weekday, as well as on select Saturdays throughout the year. Our office is open until 7 pm to accommodate working professionals as well. Come check us out, and I promise you’ll be pleased with what you see.

Admissions Procedures for First-Year Freshman Students

Goldey-Beacom College is looking for a certain type of student - one who is motivated for success in a meaningful career. We look for that first in every applicant.

Every application is reviewed individually to determine strengths and potential for academic and career success. The admission evaluation considers a number of factors including cumulative grade point average, test scores, and class rank, but recent academic improvement, life challenges, and strong motivation are also considered.

Goldey-Beacom College operates on a rolling admission policy, so students may submit their application materials at any time. Rolling admission is nonbinding and allows students to receive their admission and scholarship decisions within two weeks of completing the application process.
