Program Description:
The nine-credit Graduate Certificate in Health Care Management is designed for those individuals transitioning into health care organizations or positions and those requiring a more in-depth understanding of the health care industry. The certificate provides the student with an understanding of the role of public policies and politics in the health care industry, the various component sectors of the industry, and the planning methods used within the health care field. Students examine the principles and practical application of the laws that affect the operations and decisions of health care providers. An introduction to the main components of health information technology and how it relates to health care service businesses provides a basis for understanding the role of information in the success of the delivery system and other health care processes.
Admission Requirements:
Students must have already completed a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university, and submit additional documents to fulfill the graduate admissions requirements.
Conferral Requirements:
To earn conferral of the Health Care Management Certificate, students must earn a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA and satisfy all course requirements.
