SCM 695 - Supply Chain Management & Sustainability Capstone


(3 Credits)

Through the lens of a leader within a given organization; students will develop and show an understanding of the key concepts Supply Chain Management as well as application; through the development of a problem statement either within their own organization or a chosen organization addressing the following questions as noted below:

  • How do organizations observe, develop and incorporate Supply Chain Management as a viable strategic framework within their given Industry and what would be the associated benefits of utilizing these frameworks?
  • What applicable technologies and analytics would be used to support the organization and why have these been chosen?
  • What considerations need to be observed regarding corporate social responsibility and sustainability?
  • What domestic international inferences need to be considered relative to the chosen organization?
  • Demonstrate an overall synopsis and summary relative to the maturity of the organization; organizational and leadership considerations; stakeholder value community engagement; governance, financial health and welfare of the organization, technological considerations and employee interdisciplinary cross-functional knowledge.

Upon completion of the practicum the student will have demonstrated knowledge and practical application of the value of Supply Chain Management and its comparative transferability across industry and the impact to the broader environment, through the use of peer reviewed research; practical insight; critical inquiry and analysis and real world application.

Prerequisite(s): SCM 602  or SCM 603  or SCM 604
