Program Description:
The MS in Human Resource Management degree program is designed to equip students with advanced knowledge, skills, and practical experience to succeed in leadership roles within the field of human resources. Courses focus on strategic HR management, leadership, organizational development, as well as specialized areas within human resources, designed to provide students with breadth and depth across the HR field. Curriculum is strategically aligned with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and culminates with a capstone course that prepares students for the SHRM certification exam.
Program Goals:
Upon successful completion of the Master of Science in Human Resource Management, student will:
- demonstrate organizational and communication skills necessary for strategic HR planning, global HR management, and organizational change management.
- demonstrate leadership and management skills necessary for leading HR departments.
- demonstrate strength in research methods and HR analytics necessary to gain data-driven insights and make strategic HR decisions.
- demonstrate the ability to lead initiatives in compensation and benefits, training and development, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, or labor relations.
- demonstrate the skills needed to become HR managers, directors, consultants, or specialists.
